How to pick the right quality of blue sapphire?

Unlike diamonds, there is no fixed grading chart for sapphires but there are a few characteristics that can help you make the right choice.

  1. Color:

The most valued blue sapphires are velvety blue to violetish blue, in medium to medium-dark tones known as cornflower. Sapphires with these qualities command the highest prices per carat.

Less valuable blue sapphires are either too light

or too dark

2. Treatment :

If there is no form of treatment done on the sapphire, it is more valuable. The sapphire here is a un-heated Thai sapphire

At the end of it, there is a wide of sapphires offered - so you may go for the one that fits your budget and the one that catches your eye.
